This post was meant for me. I am actually in need of a new logo for my company. I will check out these sites. Thx for the tips!

“You get what you pay for” That is sooo true. I contacted a company to design a logo for me. I chose them because I was attracted to their price. It turned out to be too good to be true.

  3. Roger says:

Good point about the source file & future revision.

  4. Jessie says:

I agree with you Paul. A logo is not a priority, especially when you are just starting out. It is much more important to focus on building your reputation.

  5. Terrance says:

I never thought about the company’s ethos, but that is very important to consider when designing a logo.

  6. Tony says:

Good recommendation, the site and designs looks nice.

  7. Kay.B says:

  8. Jenna says:

99designs is an excellent place not only for logos but also for designers themselves.

  9. Adam says:

Combining business ethos and logo design is difficulty, imagination alone won’t work….

    cool – thanks!!

  11. Albert says:

I actually think that a logo is a good idea. When you think of some of the most successful companies in the world, you can see their logo (Coca Cola and McDonald’s popped into my head immediately). For a small business, however, I agree that it might not be the first priority.

  12. Jeremy says:

I agree that you shouldn’t spend too much time or money creating a logo when you are first starting your business. I’d spend the money and effort on my website and support staff to take over some tasks I could delegate.

  13. Terry says:

Thanks for the advice about finding someone to help me out with my logo. I started to try to design one for myself, but I don’t think it looks polished enough. I’m going to look around on the sites you recommended.

  14. Anthony says:

I agree that it is really important to convey to the designer what the logo should be like. I’m not that design-savvy, so I look for advice from other people who are. Brainstorming sessions are really helpful.

  15. Nat says:

I think you are correct sir, In business school we are bombarded with how important the company logo is. They say that it has to be global. That it can stand 50 years, blah blah blah. The thing is most start with the logo even without a solid operations plan and sales system. This process in itself destroys the logo and name itself.

Another thing, doing design over the web isn’t easy. Especially if the client can send a Rough sketch of what it should look like. And talk about some customers, expecting the designer to research if the design has a copyright.

  16. Jason says:

I’ve heard of elance, you have a very wide range of choices. but like all agencies, you will get bad quality and good quality work. Fortunately I have found most of the best guys in elance. =)
